The Kosciuszko National Park features the highest peaks in Australia and some
of our most well known and much loved alpine landscapes. We reside over four
nights in a delightful ski lodge in the beautiful surrounds of Thredbo Village
and take off each day to explore another part of this memorable place. The trip
highlight, for many, will be the days outing to Mt. Kosciuszko and the walk to
Blue Lake. This trip is an opportunity to enjoy walking in temperate conditions
in an area bristling with colour and brightness as the heat of summer has the
rest of the country sweltering.

One of the very best walking experiences in Australia is found at Cradle
Mountain National Park. We have chosen to make a visit in February when the
areas flora comes to life and the weather is at its most stable. And what really
adds to the charm of this trip is our place of stay in the Waldheim Cabins
located right in the heart of the World Heritage area. This area has to be one
of the most picturesque landscapes in Australia and it is always verdant and
lush.

The words pristine, enchanting, lush and untouched describe so much of Australia’s fabulous natural heritage. Tasmania’s Tarkine Wilderness sits easily within this realm and a more exceptional place where you can observe the workings of nature as they have operated for millennia is hard to find. The Tarkine is simply one of the most inspiring locations found anywhere and to spend time in it’s heart, with Park Trek, for our five day experience is to be transported to a time when Australia was a part of Gondwanaland.

The dolerite formations that make Cradle Mountain such an amazing sight are
exactly what make the soaring sea cliffs of the Tasman Peninsula such an amazing
sight to behold. More dramatic than any other coastline in Australia the Tasman
Peninsula hosts an excellent network of walking trails that allow the day walker
access to a number of premier locations. Our place of stay affords us great
comfort and warmth as well as it’s own piece of coastline.

The natural world explodes with life during the month of March in Kakadu, Australia’s largest national park. During our seven days away we’ll experience the green glory of this biologically rich landscape. Rising out of the surrounding broad-acre plains of western Victoria the Grampians are a dramatic collection of peaks and valleys interlaced with some excellent walking tracks. Spring is the ideal time to experience the Grampians as the streams bristle with a fresh flow, the bush is a riot of colour and the animal population comes to life. The tracks here have enjoyed recent upgrades and the area is at it’s best. Plus we have the most charming accommodation in Halls Gap, ideal for a coffee at the end of each days walking.
