Walking Tours 2011

Snowy Mountains January 2011

The Kosciuszko National Park features the highest peaks in Australia and some of our most well known and much loved alpine landscapes. We reside over four nights in a delightful ski lodge in the beautiful surrounds of Thredbo Village and take off each day to explore another part of this memorable place. The trip highlight, for many, will be the days outing to Mt. Kosciuszko and the walk to Blue Lake. This trip is an opportunity to enjoy walking in temperate conditions in an area bristling with colour and brightness as the heat of summer has the rest of the country sweltering.

Cradle Mountain February 2011

One of the very best walking experiences in Australia is found at Cradle Mountain National Park. We have chosen to make a visit in February when the areas flora comes to life and the weather is at its most stable. And what really adds to the charm of this trip is our place of stay in the Waldheim Cabins located right in the heart of the World Heritage area. This area has to be one of the most picturesque landscapes in Australia and it is always verdant and lush.

The words pristine, enchanting, lush and untouched describe so much of Australia’s fabulous natural heritage. Tasmania’s Tarkine Wilderness sits easily within this realm and a more exceptional place where you can observe the workings of nature as they have operated for millennia is hard to find. The Tarkine is simply one of the most inspiring locations found anywhere and to spend time in it’s heart, with Park Trek, for our five day experience is to be transported to a time when Australia was a part of Gondwanaland.
