Rising out of the surrounding broad-acre plains of western Victoria the Grampians are a dramatic collection of peaks and valleys interlaced with some excellent walking tracks. Spring is the ideal time to experience the Grampians as the streams bristle with a fresh flow, the bush is a riot of colour and the animal population comes to life. The tracks here have enjoyed recent upgrades and the area is at it’s best. Plus we have the most charming accommodation in Halls Gap, ideal for a coffee at the end of each days walking.
DAY 1
We depart from Melbourne around 8:30am and make our way to the town of Ballarat where a welcome morning tea awaits. Then it’s on to our place of stay in Halls Gap at D’Altons Resort where we serve you lunch and settle everyone for the next three nights. Accommodation here is in fully self-contained cabins. Our day’s walk sees us starting up at Silverband Falls and following a delightful walking trail down to BellBird Reservoir where the coach awaits to take us back to our place of stay.

DAY 2
Our day will begin at the top of the Grampians most famous peak, The Pinnacle. Then we delve into exploring the Wonderland area, an amazing network of watercourses and rock formations. Then after lunch we head to the thunderous Mackenzies Falls and a delightful walk down to a well-preserved beauty spot called Zumsteins. Our busy day ends here and we head back to our accommodation. For those who so desire there are a number of pleasant walks in our immediate area, which you may care to explore while we prepare another delicious evening meal.

DAY 3
A totally different experience awaits us today as we head to the northern end of the Grampians and explore the magical surrounds of Mt Staplyton. Our lunch spot overlooks a huge area encompassing broad acre farms and the dramatic escarpments of the northern Grampians. An afternoon’s walk up to the Beehive Falls caps off our days walking before we head back to our cosy abode and the social end of the day. This evening we will eat out at a local restaurant in Halls Gap OE.

DAY 4
This mornings walk following the bubbly flow of Stoney Creek takes us passed some magic features such as the Elephants Hide and the Venus Baths and finally down into Halls Gap where morning tea in one of the local cafe’s is a fitting reward for our mornings trekking. We then drive south for lunch in the small town of Dunkeld before returning to Melbourne around 5:30pm.
